Chart-topping band won’t tour

British rock band Coldplay have announced they will not tour their new album over concerns about the environment.

The band will instead record their two upcoming concerts in Jordan and share them to Youtube for fans to view. They will also perform a one-off concert at the Natural History Museum in London on November 25.

“We’re not touring this album,” said lead singer Chris Martin.

“We’re taking time over the next year or two, to work out how our tour can not only be sustainable [but] how can it be actively beneficial.”

Coldplay’s last world tour was in 2016 and 2017, where they played 122 shows across five continents.

The band have explained the difficult factor of an environment-friendly tour is the flying.

“We’ve done a lot of big tours at this point. How do we turn it around so it’s no so much taking as giving?” said Martin.

Coldplay released their eighth studio album Everyday Life earlier this week.
