The low-down on Coachella 2015 and what you’re missing.

In keeping with tradition this years Coachella line-up is classic American- super-sized; in quantity as well as quality.

Anticipated acts include alt-J, Tame Impala, Drake, The Weeknd, Vance Joy, Kasbian, and the added bonus of a few fab double ups that graced NZ this summer at Laneway festival. Unforgettable was the incomparable FKA Twigs.

Alongside a long list of big names it seems this years line up is a dreamland for electronic & house loving hoodlums. Wondrous ‘A-teams’, include Caribou, Tycho, ODESZA and Cashmere Cat, just to name a few.

The beloved Alabama Shakes will be gracing the stage after a fiery start to the year with the release of their single ‘Don’t Wanna Fight’. We also have our kiwi girl Kimbra repping, who will no doubt blow minds with yet another killer performance and jazz infused R&B tendencies.

My ‘new find’, must see act of Coachella 2015 would have to be St. Paul & the Broken Bones. Renowned for their “gospel tinged neo-soul garage sound” and a full set up of horns, organ and other such wondrous devices, these suave specimens are undoubtedly groove-worthy. The best transportation to a 1950s swinging scene.
