College Admission Scandal hits Hollywood

There is a new scandal in Hollywood as 40 individuals in connection with a college admission scheme have been cornered by the FBI, including some rather well-known faces.

Those that have been charged include exam administrators, school coaches and parents. Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman and Full House alumni Lori Loughlin have been caught up in the drama and may be facing legal action. According to the court documents,  both actresses have been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud to get their children into college.

Attorney Andrew Lelling commented on the matter during a press conference, stating “The parents, the other defendants, are clearly the prime movers of this fraud. It remains to be seen whether we charge any of the students.”

The University of Southern California, where both of Loughlin’s daughters are enrolled, issued a statement saying they will “continue to cooperate fully” with the ongoing investigation. They also stated that they are “identifying any funds received by the university in connection with this alleged scheme.”

Loughlin has a warrant for arrest as she is out of the country, whilst her husband Mossimo Giannulli and Huffman have been arrested and are expected to appear in court soon.

This sounds like it’s straight out of a TV show, right?!
