Apparently eating cheese can make you live longer. A study from the Nature Medicine journal has found that consuming spermidine, a compound naturally found in most cheese, can increase your lifespan. Blue is the best, with the most spermidine, but most cheese will help your heart.
The study which used rats and mice found that eating the compound leads to the animals having improved heart health. While further research needs to be completed to confirm the theory, its looking positive with the author of the study stating that “Our results suggest a new and feasible strategy for protection against cardiovascular disease.”
So next time you cut into a wheel of Brie remember its not only good for the soul but good for the heart.
