The Sky Tower is one of New Zealand’s ‘must see’ attractions. However, visitors may begin to think twice about taking that heart-pounding walk across the glass after a tourist claimed that they saw the glass crack beneath them!
A SkyCity spokesperson Colin Espiner, confirmed that the glass did indeed crack, but that it was only a superficial layer. That is still pretty terrifying! Espiner commented on the incident stating “While there was absolutely no danger to the public we will, as part of our normal maintenance procedures, check the rest of the glass floor panels”.
Despite these events, the Tower is open as per usual. Would you still brave the walk?
