Never one to shy away from innovative design projects, the Dutch have once again paved the way with the construction of shoes made from chewing gum. Aptly named Gumshoe, the sneakers are made with a new type of rubber developed by Publicis One and Gum-tec. A solution to the Netherland’s rising used chewing gum problem the soles of the shoes are developed using wasted chewing gum from the streets of Amsterdam. The chic sneakers are available in two bold colours (bright pink and black) and feature a map of Amsterdam etched in the soles of the shoes. Designed in collaboration with Explicit, an Amsterdam shoe company, the trendsetting shoes are not only a solution to wastefulness but are also a stylish and environmentally conscious fashion choice.
