K-pop star found dead, age 25

K-pop singer and actress Choi Jin-Ri, more commonly known as Sulli, was found dead at her home south of Seoul on Monday.

The 25-year-old was found by her manager after she did not answer his phone calls for hours, said the Seongnam Sujeong Police Department.

Police are unsure about the cause of death as there were no signs of foul play or intrusion. There was also no suicide note.

SM Entertainment, Sulli’s agency, said her death was “very hard to believe and sorrowful.”

The Korean actress and singer shot to fame in 2009 as a member of the girl band “f(x)”, as well as appearing in numerous television dramas and movies.

She was best known for her feminist voice, rare among female entertainers in South Korea.
