Finally! Something we can all relate to, that is if you grew up in Auckland’s Papakura. Kura is a new hilarious and relatable comedy that will make you laugh, cry, and text your bff for a date. The feel-good e-series follows Billy-John who is sick of doing a whole lot of nothing in South Auckland. Work sucks and everything is a little bit meh, so he decides to move to the Gold Coast on the spur of the moment. What will he tell his best mate Hotene? Or his girlfriend Trinity? The series is set over the days leading up to his departure as he attempts to earn some cash for his trip across the ditch. A highlight of the show is his epic night out with the lads, and picking up a mystery package for his uncle in Oz. We recommend this wholesome Kiwi tale which was made by filmmakers James Watson and Vince McMillan who won the majority vote at TVNZ’s New Blood Competition in 2018 with Kura’s pilot episode.
