Kylie Jenner: The Youngest Ever Self-Made Billionaire

At just 21 years old, Kylie Jenner has officially been announced as the youngest self-made billionaire of all time by Forbes magazine.

With thanks to her wildly successful make-up company Kylie Cosmetics, Jenner has reached a ten-figure fortune at a younger age than previous title-holder Mark Zuckerberg. Despite only being founded three years ago, it now has an estimated $508 million in sales in 2018. Due to her 100 percent ownership of the company and other business ventures, Jenner now has an estimated fortune of $1 billion.

Speaking to Forbes about her achievement, Jenner stated “It’s the power of social media. I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.”

Whilst Jenner uses her social media status to promote and advertise Kylie Cosmetics, many took to those same social media platforms to voice their thoughts on her new title. Whilst many have congratulated her and made lighthearted jokes on her achievement, others have criticized the definition of “self-made” as her success stems from her family’s celebrity status.

Despite any jokes or criticism, Jenner’s cosmetic empire continues to grow with the recent announcement of her new setting powder, much to the delight of her tens of millions of fans.
