Kiwi music collective LEISURE has announced two live shows at the end of this year, guaranteed to inspire audiences in Wellington and Auckland. The band is made up of five independently successful artists, and they’ve had over 50 million streams on their debut self-titled album.

“It’s been something like 700 days since we released our debut album – admittedly we had no idea what we were making, or how we were doing it, the only certainty was that the combination of the creative energies when we were all in a room was a feeling none of us had felt before,” said LEISURE.

Since the album’s release in 2016, the band has built a huge following and played sold out shows. In April this year, they performed at the Auckland Town Hall, backed by the 72-piece Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra.

The versatility of LEISURE’s music is part of its appeal. In addition to working with the orchestra, they’ve also collaborated with hip-hop star Goldlink and signed with record label Nettwerk for their upcoming album.

This year’s concerts promise a new musical landscape. “For us, these shows signify the start of a new set of sonic sunsets, the tone for the next wave of music,” said LEISURE.

The Wellington show will be on Friday November 30th at Meow, with supporting act Bene.

The Auckland show will take place on Saturday December 8th at the Hollywood Theatre, with supporting act Marlin’s Dreaming as well as Bene.
