Miley Cyrus rests her voice after vocal chord surgery

Miley Cyrus is recovering well after recently undergoing vocal chord surgery.

Last month the singer was hospitalised with tonsilitis after having trouble with her vocal chords.

Cyrus was put on “vocal rest’ after her hospital stay, yet has been posting videos to social media to show she is staying active.

The singer shared a video of herself working out, captioned at the time “on vocal rest, not body.”

The 26-year-old’s hospitalisation followed an intense few weeks of media coverage regarding her relationship status. Cyrus recently announced her split from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, as well as dating and splitting from Kaitlynn Carter.

She is now dating Australian singer Cody Simpson.

Following her recent antics, the singer has received backlash from critics who claim she is moving on too quickly from Hemsworth.

Cyrus has taken to social media to respond.

“I am grown now and make choices as an adult knowing the truth/details/reality. People only ‘know’ what they see on the internet. [Men], they move on from one beautiful young woman to the next MOST times without consequence … I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a ‘mans’ world. If we can’t beat em, join em! (sic)”
