The 2018 New Zealand Television awards took place at Auckland’s Civic Theatre and proved to be a stellar event.
The country’s biggest celebrities gathered to celebrate, and awards were presented to the most stand out television stars of the year. The ceremony was full of surprises, with shocking wins and losses across the board.
Jono & Ben took home Best Comedy Program, which came as a shock following their sudden cancellation after seven strong seasons.
It was a stunning year for Maori Programming success. With comedy icon Anika Moa winning Best Presenter: Entertainment, for her new show Anika Moa: Unleashed. While the hilariously satirical show Casketeers picked up Best Original Reality Series.
Kiwi legend Hayley Holt was awarded Television Personality of the Year. Her win follows a broad career, the host featuring in a variety of New Zealand television events. From her time on Dancing with the Stars to her appearances on The Crowd Goes wild, Holt has proved her versatility and Kiwi’s were eager to reward her for her dedication to New Zealand television.
