The chunky sneakers we all need

Skechers has recently launched its Premium Heritage Limited Edition Holiday Collection offering a unique twist to its classic chunky sneaker.

The latest range is an expansion of the first wave of Premium Heritage designs that launched in September, however includes bold features such as red leopard print, tassels, gold chain detailing and jewelled laces.

Skechers developed the chunky sneaker two decades ago with the introduction of the Skechers Energy shoe. Since then, the brand has gained global recognition and has been worn by celebrities including style icon, Britney Spears. The design of the Skecher shoe has consistently evolved throughout the years and in 2007 a lighter version was designed. Ten years later, Skechers D’Lites re-emerged in Asia, encouraging the revival of the retro chunky sneaker trend and debuted on models and runways across the world.

“In a world with fast trends and social media creating demand for the latest hot item, consumers want newness, freshness, and something that stands out and is available for a limited time,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers.

“That’s the foundation of our Skechers Premium Heritage concept. These are statement shoes with high-end materials and design details on signature Skechers outsoles. It’s a capsule that creates a buzz with key opinion leaders.”

Never going out of style, Skechers serve as a complement to any outfit and a comfortable sneaker for every occasion.
