THE WINING DEAD

Fans of AMC’s zombie drama The Walking Dead can now drink away the pain of their favourite character being killed off with Walking Dead themed wine.

Each wine is supposedly imbued with the characteristics of the character after which it is named. The Rick Grimes Califirnia Petite Syrah is “bold, dark and balanced, exhibiting a notable tension between the bright acidity and firm, tannic structure. You’ll realize with just one sip that his is a wine that’ll never let you down.” Daryl Dixon’s California Cabernet Sauvignon is supposedly marked by notes of ripe fruit, coffee beans, and herbs. Negan, the wine named after the barbed-wire-wrapped-baseball-bat-wielding antagonist of recent seasons, is “composed of 73 percent Merlots, 18 percent Zinfandel, and 9 percent Petite Sirah, this is a wine that packs a punch harder than Lucille’s,” the description reads, “compelling you through the apocalypse and beyond.”

Each wine, as befits drinkable merchandise from a violent show about a zombie apocalypse, is a red. The wines are a limited-edition release priced at USD$22 for each bottle or $208 for a case with four of each.
