U2 HEADING TO NEW ZEALAND

U2 are bringing their Joshua Tree tour to New Zealand, the first time the band has graced the country’s shores in almost a decade.

The group will play seminal album The Joshua Tree, from start to finish, on November 8th at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium. The last time they played in New Zealand was in 2010 after the River Pike tragedy.

The legendary Irish rockers will be supported on the tour by Noel Gallagher, of Oasis fame, playing under his solo act’s name, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

The tour promises to delight and enthral fans. Dutch photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn, who shot the cover art for the original Joshua Tree album sleeve, has designed a series of specially commissioned films for the backdrop of the staging.

Tickets for the gig will be available to U2.com subscribers from June 4th-6th, with general sales opening on June 11th.
