Victoria’s Secret supermodel has revealed her career struggles

Victoria’s Secret model Bella Hadid has revealed she was never comfortable modelling lingerie for the designer brand and has struggled with depression throughout her career.

During an on-stage chat at the Vogue Fashion Festival in Paris, Hadid explained she was never at ease modelling lingerie on the catwalk. The model proceeded to explain if it wasn’t for the help from global icon Rihanna, she wouldn’t have been able to get through it.

“Rihanna’s amazing. For me, that was the first time on a runway that I felt really sexy,” the 23-year-old beauty confessed.

Hadid added that Rihanna’s advice was to walk any way she wanted to give herself a confidence boost.

The supermodel also discussed her past battle with mental health struggles, explaining some of her darkest moments were when she first began her modelling career.

“I would cry every single morning, I would cry during my lunch breaks, I would cry before I slept,” she said.

“I was very emotionally unstable for a while when I was working 14-hour days for four months straight as an 18-year-old. I think I just wanted to breathe a little bit,”

Hadid acknowledged the privileged life she has, however also admitted to its downfalls.

“I feel guilty for being able to live this incredible life, have the opportunities that I do, but somehow still be depressed. It doesn’t make sense.”
