Allbirds & Friends Opens Neighbourhood Pop-Up In Queenstown

A community-focused retail space celebrating comfort, colour and conscious design.

Compendium Group announced the opening of the Allbirds & Friends Neighbourhood Pop-Up at O’Connells, corner of Camp and Beach Streets, in the heart of Queenstown.

On the 20th of November, this new pop-up brings locals and visitors the chance to experience the Allbirds brand in person, alongside a curated selection of purpose-led companion brands, including Hydro Flask, Cotopaxi, and Nocs Provisions, with seasonal features from additional like-minded partners.

“It’s special to be opening here and to serve the Central Otago community,” said Johnathan Lopes Da Silva, Co-CEO & Co-Owner, Compendium Group.

“Allbirds is shaped by New Zealand’s environment and way of life, and the brands we’ve brought together through Allbirds & Friends share those same values of sustainability, purpose, and thoughtful design. Queenstown, with its landscape, pace and sense of adventure, is a natural fit. Having Allbirds & these collective brands here just feels right.”

The space honours Allbirds’ origins, inspired by New Zealand’s natural materials, landscapes, and relaxed movement, making Queenstown a fitting place to showcase the brand’s spirit and story.

The pop-up build and experience were delivered in partnership with Tailors Inc., a long-term collaborator in Allbirds & Friends retail environments.

“We’ve loved working alongside the Compendium team to bring the Allbirds & Friends concept to life, from the flagship in Britomart, to the outlet experience in Manawa Bay, and now this Neighbourhood Pop-Up in one of New Zealand’s most iconic destinations,” said Julie Coutts, Design Director, Tailor Inc.

“Every store has its own unique character, yet they’re all united by a single purpose: to create relaxed, welcoming environments that connect people with great products and good design. Queenstown is a special one and we’re proud to see it come to life.”

Built for connection and curiosity, the Neighbourhood Pop-Up is a warm, welcoming space that feels like part of the community, a place to explore, discover, and return to time and again.
