Episode Twenty-one:

In this episode, the grooms are finally returning to their hometowns, and their wives are coming with them. Some made good impressions, while others seemed to sign off on the whole experiment.

Jules made a stunning impression on her new in-laws and was even showed some awkward photos of baby Cam. Adorable.

Jess received a rude awakening when she paid a visit to Mick’s farm. Between the sheep, the filth and the sheep with horns (a goat) it was all a bit much for her, and we got to watch her squeal her way through the whole episode.

When Ning visited Mark’s home, she was shocked at just how barren it was. With plastic cups, not a decoration in sight and two body pillows Ning decided this pad was in need of a feminine touch. The two went on a small shopping spree and there were compromises all around.  What a healthy marriage these two are developing.

Heidi seemed to be slipping into her old ways when she visited Mike’s hometown. She continued to raise concerns about their compatibility in a living environment. But Mike, ever patient, was dotting and seemed to calm her nerves. The two visited Mike’s parents, and Heidi received a glowing report from the family.

Nic and Cyrell had been able to push past the drama of last week and seemed to be returning to their happy states. They were sleeping in the same bed again and even shared a few laughs. When they visited Nic’s parents, Cyrell decided to be completely honest with the family. She confessed to some poor behaviour but insisted that she cared deeply for Nic. The family was extremely receptive to her honesty and embraced her.

Martha and Michel visited the school where he teaches and played some basketball with a few students. It was a pretty strange encounter, particularly because Martha was in no way dressed for sport, but at least the two seemed happy.

Now, this last couple was truly infuriating. Susie and Billy seemed to be getting along well enough given the tension at the previous commitment ceremony. Susie even seemed a bit keen on her new husband after being treated to some raunchy photos courtesy of a nude calendar shoot for Men’s Suicide Prevention. However, things took a quick turn for the worst after a day at the beach. Billy and Susie went surfing, well Billy went surfing because Susie chickened out, and he was asked by his new wife how long it had been since he last surfed. Billy replied with two months, which was apparently a different answer than he gave to the same question on their honeymoon. Why ask the question if you already know the answer? Susie then proceeded to spin out and yell at her husband for being a liar, calling him a variety of choice names. Eventually, the two returned home, where the argument continued. Finally, Billy decided to stand up for himself and kicked Susie out of his house. Nice!

Cutest Moment of the Episode:

Heidi was concerned over her and Mike’s compatibility in a living situation. “What if we don’t live in the same way?” She asked. Mike’s response was incredibly sweet and very clever. “Well, what if we compliment each other?” This immediately bought Heidi back to earth and allowed her to stop sweating the small stuff.

Most Hilarious Moment of the Episode:

This one is another Heidi and Mike moment. The pair decided to do ‘emotional yoga’, whatever that is. Mike was really able to feel the rhythm during this exercise and danced blissfully in spot. While the activity looked hilarious, at least he was having a good time.
