Over the weekend, actor Ben Affleck was spotted stumbling on the street after drinking at a Halloween party.
TMZ posted a video of Affleck wearing a Halloween mask and making his way towards the passenger door of a parked SUV.
The Oscar-winner has since broken his silence on the incident.
“Well, you know, it happens,” he told paparazzi.
“It’s a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me.”
Affleck entered rehab for a third time in August 2018 and according to a source has been “very committed” to recover from his drinking addiction.
“He is facing the music and dealing with it. These things can happen but he regrets the choices he made. He wants to be better for his kids and intends to be” said the source.
The actor’s slip-up comes just days after he opened up about his recovery on Instagram and stated he will also be donating towards addiction recovery.
“Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle,” he said.
“Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.”
The actor said that if someone has a problem, getting help is a sign of courage, not weakness.
