As of June 1, you will be able to bring your own BYO container to New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four-Square North Island stores. The new policy will see customers able to use their own clean, leak-proof containers over the counter at their in-store butchery, seafood, delicatessen and bakery.
In celebration of the sustainable shift, we asked the team at Foodstuffs for their three top tips for customer’s wanting to use their own containers.
- “Sort through your ‘drawer of doom’ and find the best, non-leaky lidded containers in your collection. Sistema Brilliance is perfect – they are leak-proof and crystal clear!”
- “Make sure they are super clean before you use them instore.”
- “To remove a price sticker once you’ve used the product you’ve purchased – soak for a while in hot soapy water and remove or get out a hair dryer to soften the glue.”
