Following the success of last year’s Solstice event, Commercial Bay has announced the return of its seasonal celebration.
Evoking the energy and anticipation of summer’s arrival, Solstice at Commercial Bay has expanded to be a four-day celebration of fashion, music and food.
A symbolic nod to the summer solstice, the event celebrates the arrival of summer through the lens of fashion, with an invitation to embrace personal style and step into the new season with confidence.
Across the four-day celebration, Commercial Bay will come alive with exclusive shopping offers, live entertainment, and vibrant dining deals, making it one of the precinct’s most ambitious and immersive events to date.
This year, Solstice is set to become a fashion event of the season, timed perfectly to welcome longer days and brighter wardrobes. Two runway shows will headline the festivities, with Commercial Bay once again transforming its ground-level laneway into a striking open-air catwalk.
The shows, styled by renowned fashion figure Karen Inderbitzen-Waller, will showcase the best of new-season fashion from Commercial Bay’s collection of premium local and international brands including Juliette Hogan, Sylvester, Wynn Hamlyn and more.
The celebrations begin on Thursday evening with the opening night runway show and the unveiling of exclusive in-store shopping offers, available throughout the precinct for the full four days. Friday night will see a second runway show illuminate the city centre, offering attendees a fresh look at what’s hot this summer.
Internationally renowned twin DJs Rain and China Katayanagi will provide the soundtrack to the runway, infusing the show with their signature energy and style.
As the weekend rolls in, the energy will continue with DJs animating the precinct across Saturday and Sunday, while retailers and hospitality venues keep the summer feeling going with curated experiences and special promotions designed to delight.
Adding even more excitement to the mix, shoppers who spend over NZD 150 at any participating Solstice retailer will be entered into a draw to win a NZD 5,000 Commercial Bay spending spree.
The Solstice will be held from Thursday, the 18th, to Sunday, the 21st of September.
