Dyson unveils its latest floorcare innovation, the Dyson WashG1™, the company’s first dedicated wet floor cleaner. Engineered for efficient, hygienic cleaning and easy maintenance, the Dyson WashG1 is designed to handle wet and dry debris simultaneously, providing a barefoot-clean feel.
The Dyson WashG1 features highly absorbent microfibre filament rollers that counter-rotate to powerfully clean hard floors, tackling spills, debris, and tough stains. Dyson’s new separation technology ensures hygienic disposal by dividing wet and dry debris at the source. The machine is easy to manoeuvre, effortlessly gliding across hard floors and reaching into tight spaces. With a 1-litre clean water tank, the Dyson WashG1 can cover up to 290 sqm of flooring, washing with clean water from start to finish.

Charlie Park, Vice President of New Product Development at Dyson Home, emphasised the importance of wet cleaning for household hygiene.
“Most of us vacuum regularly, but wet cleaning is essential for removing tough, dried-on stains. The Dyson WashG1 is our first dedicated wet machine, designed to wash hard floors properly and hygienically,” said Park.
Innovative Features
Counter-Rotating Rollers: The Dyson WashG1 uses two individually powered rollers that counter-rotate while a pulse-modulated pump distributes water evenly across 26 hydration points. Each roller, made of highly absorbent microfibre with 64,800 filaments per cm², effectively absorbs liquid spills and envelops dry dirt, debris, and hair. This design ensures longer dwell time on stains, resulting in powerful and fast stain removal.
Separation Technology: Dyson’s unique separation technology divides debris and dirty water at the source for hygienic, no-touch disposal. Dirty water is extracted from the rollers and collected in a 0.8-litre capacity tank, while large debris is separated into a removable tray. The design minimises dirt build-up and allows for easy maintenance, with large openings in the water tanks for simple cleaning.
Customised Hydration Control: Users can select the level of hydration based on debris type, flooring, or personal preference. The Dyson WashG1 offers low, medium, and high hydration modes, along with a boost mode for stubborn dirt and dried-on stains.
“Stain removal performance depends on the correlation of floor hydration and applied agitation. Our machine gives owners full control to deep clean effectively,” said Park.
Manoeuvrability and Edge-to-Edge Cleaning: The rollers span the full width of the cleaner head for edge-to-edge cleaning, right to the corners. The Dyson WashG1 features two motors within each roller, spinning in opposite directions to clean both ways. Casters provide balance and weight support, while the low cleaner head height allows for easy reach under furniture.
The Dyson WashG1™ is available exclusively from Dyson.co.nz for NZD $1,099. Customers purchasing through Dyson Direct will receive an additional set of rollers with every unit. To learn more and purchase, visit Dyson
