How about a blind date with a book this Valentine’s Day?

The Auckland Council is hooking up the brave of the city with an important partner—reading. In a bid to encourage people to get out and read more, there is a chance that you could win an overnight stay for two in an elegant room at the Cordis, Auckland or the hotel’s signature High Tea for two.

In order to enter, participants must visit their local library between the 4th and 24th of February, borrow a “Blind Date” read, and complete the entry card. You’ll be put into the draw to win either of the grand prizes.

The books are a mixture of fiction and non-fictional books. The hope is that participants will be exposed to something that they wouldn’t choose. Perhaps the blind date is funny, or informative, entertaining, or even heart-breaking. “You can even date multiple books at once,” the Council boasts.

You must be 18 years or older. Additional information can be found via the Auckland Libraries blog.
