K-Pop star found dead

K-Pop star and TV celebrity Goo Hara was found dead at her Seoul home on the weekend.

Police have said an acquaintance found the singer dead at her home and reported it to authorities. The cause of death was not initially known and police have refused to release any further details.

Hara became famous in 2008 as a member of the K-Pop girl group Kara. She later worked as a solo artist and appeared on multiple TV shows.

In May, the 25-year-old was found unconscious at her home and had to be hospitalised. Last year the star was involved in public disputes with an ex-boyfriend and was accused of assaulting him after he threatened to share a sex video of her. The incident made Hara the subject of tabloids and malicious online messages.

In October another K-Pop star named Sulli was found dead at her home in Seoul. Before her shock death, Sulli appeared in a TV show and spoke about the online backlash she had received over her lifestyle.
