Gather around Zelda fans! Nintendo is set to exclusively launch Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, a prequel of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Players will be taken back 100 years, before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, to the time of the Great Calamity, happened. Characters like Link and Zelda and the four Champions will be playable for the first time in the Hyrule Warriors series.
“Unlike the previous Hyrule Warriors games, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was developed by working closely with the Zelda team in every step of the process including gameplay direction, graphics, world, and all dialogue. And, while we maintained the distinct gameplay style of the Warriors series with exciting one versus a thousand battles and a wide variety of playable characters, this became the only game that will let you experience the world 100 years prior to the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild first hand.”
The gameplay will be familiar to fans of Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors. The players will be able to enjoy the adrenaline rush while they perform combos and extravagant special abilities. It’s intense, fast-paced and strategic, revolving around the background of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. You will also solve environmental puzzles, unlock weapons and skills, craft with gathered materials, visit shops and obtain items and use the power of the Sheikah Slate, which fans will recognise from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
A bonus item will be gifted to players who preorder the game – The Lucky Ladle as a weapon for Link.
