Improving the lives of pets and families, Pet Refuge has called on the help of the public to get involved.
Pet Refuge is committed to creating safer pets and safer families, and with the help of Dulux, Freedom and Fable Hotels & Resorts, it has launched its Charity Raffle to provide help where it is needed.

The prizes: A $10,000 RRP Dulux x Freedom package towards a room makeover OR a $10,000 Fable Hotel & Resorts voucher.
Prize 1: $10,000 RRP Dulux and Freedom package towards a room makeover, made up of:
Two $2,500 RRP Freedom Gift Cards for redemption in Freedom stores (excluding New Plymouth & Hastings stores) and/or online.
- A Dulux package to the total value of $5,000 RRP made up of:
- An in-home two-hour Colour Consultation service with a qualified Dulux Designer who will visit you at your home ($250 RRP value).
- Dulux paint and accessories ($1,250 RRP value).
- One $3,500 RRP Gift Card to be used towards the service (labour and travel) of a Dulux Accredited Painter to help with your room makeover.
Prize 2: $10,000 RRP Fable Hotels & Resorts Gift Card, fulfilled by 10x $1,000 Gift Cards.
How does your ticket purchase support pets and families in need?
New Zealand has one of the highest family violence rates in the developed world, and with more than 63 percent of Kiwis owning a pet, it’s not surprising more than half of victims delay leaving out of fear for what will happen to their beloved fur baby if left behind.
Pet Refuge believes in a New Zealand where pets and their owners don’t have to make this impossible choice. In fact, since opening in July 2021, the shelter has provided over 46,000 nights of safety to more than 500 vulnerable pets from across the country. Ultimately, helping more than 300 families start a new, safe future together with their beloved pets.
Pet Refuge covers all costs so families don’t have to, including:
- National transport so every pet and family has access to care regardless of where they’re from.
- Veterinary care – Sadly, 90 percent of pets require treatment over and above their initial health check.
- Bespoke wellbeing, exercise and enrichment plans to help pets heal and rehabilitate.
- A warm, safe bed and shelter until their families find a new, safe home and can be reunited.
