Prime Video has released the trailer for its new spy-thriller series, Citadel.
This landmark and groundbreaking series stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Stanley Tucci, and promises to be the next binge-worthy show.
The story follows an independent, international spy agency, which fell eight years ago. Tasked to uphold the security of all people, Citadel was destroyed by operatives of enemy Manticore. Madden plays elite agent Mason Kane, alongside Chopra-Jonas who plays special agent, Nadia.
Having had their memories wiped out, they have remained hidden ever since. Each spy built a new life and identity, whilst remaining unaware of their pasts. That is, of course, until a major threat reunites them in true crime fashion, creating a dangerous set of challenges for them to face.
Richard Madden said that the action scenes in the show are infused with the heart and drama of storytelling.
“We get to see a lot about these characters, how they physically interact, not just great action sequences but there’s drama at the heart of each one of them.”
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas said that the experience was new and unlike most things she has done before.
“The choices in the action pieces are made because of what their characters are feeling, and so there’s a story sort of interwoven in all the stunts.”
Citadel is produced by Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers AGBO company. The series consists of six episodes, the first two of which will debut on April 28th.
