Trailer | John Farnham – Finding the Voice

John Farnham - Finding the Voice

John Farnham has one of the most recognisable voices in Australian music history. With hits such as “You’re the Voice,” “Two Strong Hearts,” and “Pressure Down,” he has found a place in the great Australian songbook.

His latest project has been a story that has remained untold, with the upcoming release of the first authorised biopic, “John Farnham – Finding the Voice.”

From growing up in the quiet streets of Melbourne to reaching fame in the 1960s with a range of pop hits and through incredible highs and lows, we would eventually become known as “Australia’s Voice.” The trailer covers all bases of Farnham’s career, even admitting that he couldn’t afford to take his family to McDonald’s in the early days when things were tough.

Farnham’s 1986 album, “Whispering Jack,” remains the highest-selling Australian album of all time, and the powerful movie tracks the personal and public journey that has made Farnham one of the most respected and greatest musical artists to be produced by Australia.

There is also a suggestion in the trailer that producers did not want Farnham to record “You’re the Voice,” arguably his most famous song.

The trailer highlights interviews from fellow Aussie singers like Jimmy Barnes and international superstars like Robbie Williams and Celine Dion. The voice of Olivia Newton-John can also be heard, one of Farnham’s famous onstage and touring partners.

The film will be in cinemas from July 27th, 2023.
