Based on actual events, The Woman King revolves around General Nanisca (Oscar winner Viola Davis), who leads the Agojie, an all-female unit of warriors.
Dating back to the 1800s, the Agojie protects the African Kingdom of Dahomey, who are skilled and fierce, unlike anything the world has ever seen.
Follow General Nanisca on her epic journey as she trains the next generation of recruits and readies them for battle against an enemy determined to destroy their way of life.
