Netflix has released their New Zealand line-up for September, and we are excited. Popular series are back, and thought-provoking doco’s are hitting our screens as well as some new Netflix originals. Notable additions are Emma Stone and Jonah Hill’s new limited TV Series Maniac, the new Netflix original film Sierra Burgess is a Loser and the thought-provoking doco City of Joy. Here are just a few of our favourites coming to our screens this September.
SIERRA BURGESS IS A LOSER
Starring Stranger Things Barb, Sierra Burgess is a Loser follows the story of a case of mistaken identity which leads to a friendship between two unlikely high schoolers.
MANIAC
Very little is known about this secret new show with both Emma Stone and Jonah Hill coming aboard as both executive producers and actors. The series is based on a Norwegian tv show with a similar name.
THE GOOD PLACE
Season three of The Good Place is coming back to screens this month. The American fantasy comedy starring Kristen Bell explores what happens post life in a heaven-like utopia.
CITY OF JOY
This moving documentary follows the story behind the creation of the City of Joy, a town in the Eastern Congo that opened its arms to women survivors of violence with the aim of creating a peaceful and transformative space for women.
THE DISASTER ARTIST
The mockumentary film that brought the greatness of The Room to the masses. James Franco and Seth Rogen brought the making of the best worst movie ever made to life with hilarious moments.
