Episode Twenty-Six:

The grooms headed to their wife hometowns for the second section of homestays, and the reactions were pretty mixed.

Heidi and Mike did some cooking, while Martha decided to get a tattoo of an ex-boyfriend named removed to demonstrate her commitment to Michael. Both couples had limited screentime.

Mark and Ning went out to catch up with her friends, and Ning really opened up about her insecurities. She said that she felt guilty for moving so slowly with Mark but she felt as if she was damaged goods, and not good enough for him. Mark was very comforting, and it was nice to see Ning’s walls come even further down.

The moment we were all afraid of finally arrived this episode, as Jules and Cam had a bit of a tiff. Jules took Cam shooting, an activity she takes pride in thriving at. However, she was having an off day and Cam experienced some beginners luck so the final score was not in her favour. Jules ended up having a bit of a sulk and even snapped at her husband a few times. We would be utterly heartbroken if it weren’t for the fact that after about an hour the two were back to normal, heart-eyes and all.

Susie made Billy pick up an excessive amount of dog poo as a punishment for trying to leave at the last commitment ceremony. Billy acted like a big baby and gagged at the sight of it. It was all hilarious.

Tamara and Dan went out on a picnic and Dan admitted that he was getting some fuzzy feelings for his wife. It’s a shame that he had already started cheating, and his mistress was preparing to make contact.

Jess dragged Mick all the way to Western Australia only to more or less ignore him, and sneak off to make a secret phone call to Dan. The two talked for a while, and further reinforced their commitment to meeting up again. Jess seemed utterly infatuated with Dan, which would be cute if it weren’t so disgusting.

Cyrell and Nick were getting along well at the beginning of the week but by the end of it, things had never looked worse. Ivan, Cyrell’s somewhat obnoxious brother who made a scene at the wedding, took Nick aside to give him a piece of his mind. Ivan, having learnt about their disagreements, told Nick that if he wasn’t willing to love Cyrell at her worst, he didn’t deserve her at her best. He then told him to pack his things and leave. While Ivan was pretty harsh, his comments were also fair, and it seemed that Nick was unable to handle the truth. Nick and Cyrell talked things over and he decided to take Ivan’s advice and leave. Things ended uncertainly between the two, but Cyrell seemed rather done with the whole situation, and who could blame her.

Cutest Moment of the Episode:

Mark continued to prove he is simply the best by offering Ning words of support and encouragement as she attempts to lower her walls for him.

Most Hilarious Moment of the Episode:

Dan and Tamara getting all soppy over the fact that they are having a picnic on the beach. As if that isn’t the most Australian thing they have ever heard of.
