Celebrate Cup Week In Christchurch

No horsing around, Christchurch: Cup Week is here, and venues across the Garden City are gearing up for one of the year’s biggest social occasions.

Running from Tuesday, November 10 to Saturday, November 14, Cup Week brings racing, fashion, live music, food and spring celebrations to Christchurch.

The Bealey Quarter will serve as Cup Week headquarters, with breakfast and bus packages, drinks and platter packages, high teas, sweepstakes, prizes, and live music planned for Trotting Day and NZ Cup Day.

Breakfast and bus packages will be available from 7.30 am on Tuesday and Saturday, including buffet breakfast and transfers to the track. Rooms are also available for guests wanting to stay overnight.

Carlton Bar & Steakhouse and Original Sin will also offer breakfast buffets and bus transfers on Tuesday and Sat. At the same time, The Halswell will host breakfast events with Corona buckets and Prosecco specials.

The Terrace is Christchurch’s entertainment precinct at 76 Hereford Street, home to Original Sin, Kong and Fat Eddie’s. Each venue will host its own Cup Week program, with live music, brunches, courtyard celebrations, cocktails, and late-night entertainment throughout the week.

On Tuesday, November 10, and Saturday, November 14, Original Sin will host an Italian brunch from 9 am to 11 am, including bubbles or beer for $40, with the option to add a coach seat to the races for $10. Its Cocktail Lunch Club will follow, with spritz flights, Limoncello and a vibrant courtyard atmosphere.

On the Tuesday evening, Rollestxn Ave will perform live from 6 pm, with the set audible across Original Sin and Kong’s adjoining courtyards. On Saturday evening, Altitude will play from 6 pm.

Fat Eddie’s will host live music throughout the week, including bands, Ladies Day celebrations, a photo booth, and a flower wall installation.

Guests who book selected Cup Week experiences at The Terrace will receive VIP weekend queue-skip access for Kong, Fat Eddie’s and Sin After Dark.

The Halswell will offer specials, live music and Cup Week celebrations from Tuesday to Saturday, with options for groups, families and racegoers.

From breakfast and brunch packages to bus transfers, live music, courtyard parties and VIP queue-skip access, locals and visitors are encouraged to plan and book early.
