If you’re an anime fan in Australia, SMASH! Sydney was the place to be. From July 11 to 13, Crunchyroll lit up the ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre with its biggest takeover yet. The weekend was packed with everything anime lovers could ask for.
The Crunchyroll booth was a major drawcard on the showfloor, with fans lining up for exclusive merch at the swag station and snapping pics in themed photo zones inspired by hit series like Gachiakuta, Kaiju No. 8, The Apothecary Diaries and The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4.
On the SMASH! Main Stage presented by Crunchyroll, crowds got a sneak peek at what’s coming to the platform. Trailers and banners highlighted fan-favourite titles including Solo Leveling, One Piece, Fire Force Season 3, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 and the final season of My Hero Academia.
Around the venue, eagle-eyed fans spotted massive banners teasing this season’s most anticipated anime. Highlights included Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, Nyaight of the Living Cat and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle, which hits Australian cinemas on September 11.
Whether you were there for the exclusives or just soaking up the anime buzz, Crunchyroll brought the energy. New users in Australia and New Zealand can try Crunchyroll Premium free for seven days to unlock a huge catalogue of anime shows, movies, music and games.
