Sealy New Zealand has teamed up with the much-loved homeware brand Wallace Cotton for their annual Designer Bed Fundraiser, an initiative that supports the vital work of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ (BCFNZ). With nine women diagnosed with breast cancer every day across Aotearoa, the Foundation relies entirely on donations to provide support, education, and research funding. Sealy’s Designer Bed campaign has been a key part of that effort for over a decade, and this year, the collaboration with Wallace Cotton brings even more elegance and excitement to the auction.
In 2024, two bespoke Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite beds will be up for grabs on Trade Me between 21 – 30 October, with all proceeds going directly to BCFNZ. Both beds feature Wallace Cotton’s signature designs, combining style with Sealy’s renowned sleep technology.

“We’re thrilled to continue our support for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ through our Designer Bed campaign,” said Sealy NZ’s Marketing Manager, Jenni Gaze. “This year, partnering with Wallace Cotton has been incredibly rewarding. The beds are stunning, and we couldn’t pick just one to auction! We hope Kiwis will be inspired to bid generously to support this vital cause.”
Wallace Cotton, known for their premium bed linen and homeware, has added their creative flair to the design of the beds, pairing them with beautifully curated linens that elevate the look and feel of the Sealy Exquisite range. The ‘Rosewood’ bed features a timeless pink gingham check, while the ‘Keepsake’ bed showcases a soft floral design with intricate bee detailing, crafted using traditional linocut methods.
Julia Gardner, Wallace Cotton’s Marketing and PR Manager, shared her excitement for the collaboration: “We’re honoured to have worked with Sealy on this year’s campaign. The creativity of our in-house designers really shines through in the Rosewood and Keepsake beds, and we’re proud to support Breast Cancer Foundation NZ with this initiative.”
The face of this year’s campaign is beloved New Zealand broadcaster Melissa Chan-Green, who brings a personal connection to the cause. “Both a relative and a friend of mine have had their lives cut short by breast cancer,” Chan-Green said. “With three sisters and a daughter, this issue is incredibly close to my heart. I’m honoured to be part of a campaign that helps raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, an organisation I’ve seen working tirelessly to support women.”
Chan-Green encourages Kiwis to place their bids on the luxury beds, which not only promise a restful night’s sleep but also support an essential cause. “What better way to help than to bid on a beautiful, bespoke bed that embodies comfort and support?”
The campaign aims to raise significant funds to continue BCFNZ’s work in education, awareness, and research, providing a meaningful way for people to give back. With Sealy and Wallace Cotton joining forces, this year’s Designer Bed auction offers the chance to own a one-of-a-kind bed while making a difference for those affected by breast cancer in New Zealand.
