With July just around the corner, now is the time to sign up for #DryJulyNZ!
The Dry July campaign is back for its 11th year, asking kiwis to give up alcohol for the month to raise funds for support services and care increasingly in demand by kiwis affected by cancer.
This year three major cancer support charities will be supported by Dry July funds, and each of them is experiencing higher demand than ever for practical services to support New Zealanders going through cancer treatment.
Prostate Cancer Foundation has retained a specialist service provider to respond to the pressing need for mental health services.
PINC & STEEL needs to deliver over 2500 more classes per year to meet growing demands but is in need of funds.
Look Good Feel Better classes are in high demand, reporting a 43 percent increase in engagement and an 80 percent increase in online classes.
Look Good Feel Better, Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand and PINC & STEEL have been able to deliver specific programs for people affected by cancer thanks to last year’s Dry July funds.
Since 2012, Dry July has raised over $7.6 million for cancer organisations. More than 8600 Kiwis last year alone reaped the benefits of Dry July while supporting cancer patients, their families, and carers.
“We’re so excited to be back for 2022, to continue raising funds that will improve the comfort, care and wellbeing of patients and loved ones who are affected by cancer. We take great care to select the cancer charities that would benefit from both the funding and the prominence the campaign is able to deliver,” said Dry July Campaign and Fundraising Manager Ashleigh Oliver.
To help say ‘cheers’ to a better life for people affected by cancer, this year, the Dry July NZ Trust has announced its 2022 campaign partnership with Lyre’s, the world’s leading non-alcoholic spirits brand.
If you’re worried a month of no alcohol means missing out, Lyre’s ensures you can still have your drink your way. Check out the mocktail recipes below!
Throughout July, 10 percent of all sales from lyres.co.nz will be donated to Dry July NZ Trust, with the Lyre’s NZ team participating as a workplace to support the important cause.
