Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker, who died six years ago, might be reappearing in the next film of the franchise.
His character Brian O’Conner was popular throughout the films and is now said to be replaced by a body double. Sources close to the film said they are currently on the lookout for a suitable candidate to act as the deceased actor’s character.
The news was shared by influencer Daniel Richtman on Twitter, who expressed his unease of the prospect.
“Just got a new casting grid for something and with it some big news that are sure to be controversial. Not sure how I feel about it myself but we’ll see,” he wrote.
His second tweet revealed more information.
“It’s been long enough. They are bringing back Paul Walker’s character, Brian, to FF9,” the tweet read.
Paul Walker tragically died in a 2013 car crash, while working on the production of Furious 7. His character Brian was given a send-off in the film using CGI and the decision to bring his character back for the next film has caused controversy.
Fast and Furious 9 is due to be released in May, 2020.
