Summer staycations are not far away and RefillNZ is stoked to have the support of 160 tourism businesses, I SITES and DOC visitor centres from Northland to Stewart Island where Kiwis can refill with free wai on tap.
Whether its accommodation, action, exploring our national parks, or something for the kids, there’s a RefillNZ location where you can refill. Check out the list.
Plus there are around 600 cafes all over Aotearoa that will let you pop in and refill, check them out here.
Explore the caves in Waitomo, visit kiwis at Otorohanga, bungy jump in Taupo, check out the animals at Auckland Zoo, Hobbits in Matamata, swim with dolphins in Akaroa, stay at a Top Ten Holiday Park, surf in Raglan, walk the Hump Ridge track down south, kayak in BOP, play MiniGolf in Queenstown, Ski Cardrona or chill in one of the lovely B&B and lodges that’s have joined up.
All you have to do is remember your bottle and RefillNZ have this covered too! You can purchase a personalised reusable RefillNZ drink bottle. There are three styles and lots of colours to choose from plus $4 gets donated to help grow the #refillution and more places to refill.
More public drinking fountains are needed to fight plastic pollution
RefillNZ wants to make it easier to refill with tap water when out and about. At the moment, there aren’t enough public drinking fountains for people to use, so RefillNZ is petitioning the government to legislate for drinking fountains to be in 50% of all sports fields, parks and playgrounds throughout the country.
