The ‘inappropriate selfie’ might be the defining feature of the modern social media age. So it might come as no surprise that a rebellious rocker like Tom Morello, guitarist for rap-metal outfit Rage Against the Machine, is no fan of them.
At a solo gig in Illinois on Saturday, Morello invited audience members onto the stage to jam with him. At one point, an enthusiastic fan leant in close and tried to snap an unauthorised selfie mid-performance with Morello.
It did not go down well.

After the incident, Morello tweeted, “Put a phone in my face onstage and I’ll throw it. #LiveInTheMoment”.
Fan @phaythness asked, “But would u take a selfie with a fan offstage?”, to which Morello replied, “All day”.
