MAFS S10 E16 | “There’s Nobody At This Table That Has Taken This Harder Than Myself”

MAFS

Married At First Sight (MAFS): whether you know it, love it and can’t get enough of it or have absolutely no clue what it is, it is undoubtedly all anyone in the office is talking about.

For all those too pressed for time to watch (or would rather watch anything else), this is your (somewhat) reliable source of juicy updates to keep up with all the office banter.

For the avid MAFS viewers, if you’re here because you want to know whether or not your MAFS opinions are controversial, I hope you find solace below.

Episode Sixteen: Once A Cheater, Always A Cheater

The long-awaited dinner party. The producers of MAFS have certainly done an excellent job of pitting viewers for and against the two main culprits of creating drama this week, Claire and Adam.

Claire’s confessionals were dubbed with soft, flowery music, and while at the table, Claire’s words were welcomed with peace as she teared up during her apology. Claire’s maturity and accountability are commendable.

On the other hand, Adam displayed great character, sharing words of true colour for Janelle regarding his indiscretion while being driven to the dinner party.

“Get over it, move on, don’t be bitter about it.”

Claire, however, took the time to acknowledge the wrongdoing of the kiss shared between her and Adam. She also apologised for the lying that ensued days and weeks following when she and Adam denied anything had happened between them.

“I have no excuses for my behaviour. I’m sorry to Jesse and Janelle for disrespecting you. I’m sorry, Janelle, for lying to your face when asked if you had anything to worry about,” shared Claire.

There’s nothing like being good with words and crying to soften the blow of infidelity.

Adam, meanwhile, painted himself as the victim of the situation. Adam’s ‘apology’ was undercut by his inability to take true accountability. He attempted to weasel his way out of taking the blame by claiming what he and Janelle had at the time the kiss occurred was not a relationship. However, simultaneously Adam stated their relationship was in a ‘bad place’.

I can tell you nobody at this table has taken this harder than myself,

“I can tell you nobody at this table has taken this harder than myself. There’s a lot of stuff that happened with Janelle and me at the start of our relationship that none of you knows about,” stated Adam.

Shock reverberated across the table over Adam’s words. However, the suspect version of events illustrated by Adam was questioned by Janelle’s recollection of the night (although his story never appeared reliable, as such, in the first place).

“I kissed him goodbye before he left, and he had sex with me that night,” revealed Janelle.

It could be disputed that Adam had forgotten the fact he and Janelle had sex, or perhaps he banked on Janelle being too modest to share, or maybe, being a cheater doesn’t require as much suave and intellect as one may have thought.

Nevertheless, Adam has successfully dug his grave, while Claire and Jesse snuck out and left the party with a giggle, appearing to be getting along.
