Massive Renovation Inspiration At Auckland Home Show

Massive Renovation Inspiration At Auckland Home Show

Australasia’s largest home renovation and building expo returns to the Auckland Showgrounds this spring.

Now in its 42nd year, the event features more than 450 exhibitors, with eight huge halls, outdoor areas and function spaces filled to the brim with enough products and people to turn a shack into a show home in record time.

This year, the show features a renewed focus on the heart of the home, kitchens, bathrooms and everything that involves. From cutting-edge appliances to trusted classics, benchtops and laminates to custom cabinetry, splashbacks, tapware, lighting, and indoor kitchen gardens, it’s a one-stop shop for planning and upgrading your most-used spaces.

Beyond the kitchen and bathroom zones, the show addresses the full range of indoor and outdoor renovation needs, with building systems, solar energy, cladding, lighting, insulation, landscaping, furniture, smart home technology and more.

Visitors can compare products and talk directly with experts about layouts, materials, budgets, and build timeframes, all while taking advantage of exclusive show-only deals. Attendees are encouraged to bring their dreams and their plans and turn ideas into action.

The informative ‘Design Renovate Decorate’ Seminar Series, sponsored by Resene, features 14 free sessions daily, with top experts and panels sharing insights on kitchen planning, renovation budgeting, bathroom upgrades, colour trends, sustainable design, building regulations and smart technology.

Hands-on DIY Workshops return in 2025 with a new focus on adult audiences. These practical sessions offer tips and techniques for tackling projects at home across all four show days.

The Ryobi Make + Take Zone also returns, giving visitors a chance to use Ryobi tools to complete their take-home project. Meanwhile, the popular How-To Workshop Series will run daily in Hall 8, covering upcycling, wallpapering, deck building, cocktail shaking, and more.

The Street of Tiny Houses is back for 2025 with a new name: Tiny Living Lane. This feature lets visitors explore fully furnished tiny homes, learn about zoning, financing and off-grid living, and gather ideas for stylish and sustainable small-space living.

And at the centre of the Tiny Living Lane precinct, The Garden Feature, presented in partnership with Parrot Landscaping, brings together tropical, sustainable native, and outdoor entertainer themes in a lush, landscaped space.

The Marketplace and Outdoor Ideas Zone in Hall 8 is a vibrant hub of home décor, artisan pieces, lighting, pottery, textiles and backyard inspiration, including turf, paving, landscaping, decking and louvres.

More than products and services, the Auckland Home Show is packed full of experiences.

Friday Night offers a fun and social atmosphere with live acoustic music, gourmet food trucks and outdoor entertainment in the Foyer area.

Saturday is all about outdoor fun with BBQ tastings, multiple music acts and evening entertainment.

And Sunday is Family Fun Day, with kids’ craft activities, face painting, interactive Mitre 10 Kids’ Workshops, and the adorable Puppy Cuddle Zone presented in partnership with the Saving Hope Foundation.

Auckland Home Show General Manager, Amanda Magnus, said the show is designed to help homeowners move from ideas to outcomes.

The show runs from Thursday, the 11th to Sunday, the 14th of September 2025.
