Prime Video has announced that the highly anticipated film Pimpinero: Blood and Oil will launch exclusively on Friday, the 22nd of November.
The launch followed the film’s official selection and world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It has also been featured at prestigious film festivals around the world, including the Rio International Film Festival, Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, Cine Latino Film Festival, and New York Latino Film Festival.
Pimpinero: Blood and Oil is set in the desert bordering Colombia and Venezuela, where gasoline smugglers known as “pimpineros” risk their lives transporting illegal fuel from one country to another.
When Juan, the youngest in a clan of three brothers entangled in this dangerous trade, is forced to work for a sinister rival, the underbelly of the business is laid bare with tragic consequences.
Determined to uncover the gruesome secrets that shroud this no-man’s-land, Juan’s girlfriend, Diana, embarks on a quest for the truth.
Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Andrés Baiz, the film marks Baiz’s triumphant return to the big screen after a successful career directing global series.
Pimpinero: Blood and Oil explores the powerful and universal themes of borders and family bonds, making it a must-watch for worldwide audiences.
