Following the success of the Pokémon Go! mobile app, which saw users roaming the land in search of the rarest (or cuddliest) Pokémon, The Pokémon Company has launched a new game which seeks to gamify a previously untapped area of human life – sleep.
Details are still murky, but thus far it appears to be the case that Pokémon Sleep will track users sleeping time and use the metrics to train Pokémon. The Pokémon Company tweeted that the app will bring “a gameplay experience unlike any other!” Perhaps because for most games, players are usually conscious. The Pokémon Company added that “several Snorlax were consulted on this, in case you were wondering.”
The game will launch in 2020.
