Prince Louis makes his balcony debut

Prince Louis, the third child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, made his debut on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on Saturday.

The prince, who turned one in April, attended the Trooping the Colour event, held to mark the Queen’s official birthday. Crowds were delighted by Louis’ waves, as well as his keen interest in the jets which flew overhead.

He was joined by older brother George and sister Charlotte, as well as other members of the Royal Family including Meghan Markle. This was the Duchess of Sussex’s first royal appearance since giving birth to her son Archie on May 6th.

The young prince wore an outfit that bore a striking resemblance to that worn by his father William during his royal balcony debut in 1986.

His great grandmother the Queen wore a pastel tweed dress in shades of pale pink, mint, yellow and gold, and the badge of the Brigade of Guards.
