Journey Beyond has officially unveiled a new city stay package extension for guests beginning or ending their train travel in Adelaide when travelling on The Ghan, Indian Pacific and Great Southern.
Guests travelling on either one of these iconic trains can now extend their journey with an adventurous stay at Monarto Safari Resort.
The Monarto Safari Stay allows guests to escape to the multimillion-dollar Monarto Safari Resort, situated alongside Monarto Safari Park and the new Wild Africa precinct.
Situated in the heart of the picturesque South Australian Murraylands, the resort is more than just a hotel; it’s an opportunity for guests to experience wild African animals without requiring a passport.
During their stay, guests will enjoy exclusive safari experiences, learning about the beauty of diverse species, and indulge in the serenity of the natural surroundings.
Monarto Safari Park is the largest safari experience outside of Africa. The park spans over 1,500 hectares and is home to more than 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles.
“We are delighted that guests can now package their rail journey by booking their Safari Stay package when Monarto Safari Resort opens on Wednesday, the 28th of May,” said Alicia Triggs, Executive General Manager of Sales and Partnerships at Journey Beyond.
“Guests will be able to view southern white rhinoceros, cheetah, hippopotamus, zebra, giraffe, antelope and ostriches as they gather around waterholes and roam the grassland plains. See native and exotic animals within metres of the resort and experience some of the World’s most iconic endangered species.” Triggs added.
The resort also features a world-class spa, including treatment rooms, a thermal plunge pool, ice bath and sauna, conference, function and restaurant spaces, two swimming pools and 20 luxury tents as part of the luxury Safari Lodge, which will open later in the year.
Before spending two nights, including a hearty daily breakfast, guests will be whisked away by private transfer to the resort (only an hour’s drive from Adelaide) before or after their journey on the train. To complement their stay, they will also experience a premium Sunset Safari onboard a custom-made safari vehicle.
Exploring 550 hectares of wide-open plains, guests can enjoy amazing sunsets as they partake in sundowner drinks and canapes amongst free-roaming herds of African animals. Guests will also receive a general admission entry to Monarto Safari Park to explore the park at their leisure with a guided hop-on-hop-off park loop bus.
