REVIEW | Logitech Flip Folio

When it comes to iPad accessories, it’s easy to get swept up in aesthetics and forget about usability.

Logitech’s new Flip Folio aims to strike a balance between functionality and form in a single, modular setup. And mostly, it succeeds.

Let’s start with what Logitech absolutely nailed: the keyboard. It’s so slim and light that I almost didn’t expect it to be this good. Typing on it feels effortless, responsive without being too clicky, perfectly spaced, and compact without compromising comfort. For anyone who’s ever wrestled with a folio keyboard that makes your hands cramp up halfway through an email, this is a dream. Plus, the fact that it pairs with up to three Bluetooth devices means it’s not just locked into iPad use. I’ve already used it to reply to texts from my phone and then switch to tap out notes on my iPad, and switching between them is as easy as pressing a button.

The keyboard magnetically attaches to the back of the folio when you’re not using it, which is incredibly handy. You can take it off, move it to your lap or table, and work however you like. That modular design feels genuinely useful, especially if you’re not always working from a desk. Combined with iPadOS shortcut keys and a battery life of up to two years (yes, years), it’s easily one of the best iPad keyboards I’ve used.

Design-wise, it’s equally sharp. The Graphite colour is sleek and minimal, while the upcoming Lilac option is a nice touch for those wanting a softer, more personal look. The folio offers solid front and back protection, feeling sturdy without adding unnecessary bulk. Logitech used 37 percent recycled plastic in the build, which is worth acknowledging, and it’s nice to see sustainability being considered in design without compromising quality.

Then there’s the kickstand, and unfortunately, this is where things take a hit. The part of the case that folds to support your iPad upright feels stiff and hard to use. Every time I bend it into place, it feels like I might break it. There’s a resistance to it that doesn’t instil confidence, and setting it up can be fiddly and awkward. Over time, I imagine this part could wear down or become even less stable, which is disappointing in a product that gets so much else right. For a case that’s meant to make iPad use more flexible, the stand feels like a bit of a design afterthought.

OUR RATING:
4/5

If you’re looking for a lightweight, good-looking folio case that delivers an excellent typing experience and can handle everyday multitasking, the Logitech Flip Folio is a solid pick. The keyboard alone is worth raving about. Just be prepared for a bit of a fight with the stand every time you want to prop it up. It’s not perfect, but for many, it’ll still be a practical and stylish choice.
