Special Pot-Au-Feu in Aotearoa

French Film Festival Aotearoa and Maison Vauron have teamed up to offer a genuine “pot-au-feu,” as seen in the fantastic festival film The Taste of Things, starring Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel.

You can enjoy an aperitif, a glass of wine, and the authentic “pot-au-feu” featured in the movie before an intimate screening of The Taste of Things at Rialto Cinemas Newmarket. French chefs at Maison Vauron will prepare the dish.

There are three sessions available: Tuesday 04 June at 6:00 pm, Monday 10 June at 5:45 pm, and an additional session added due to popular demand on Wednesday 05 June at 6:00 pm.

The movie screening will begin at 7:45 pm for the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions and at 7:30 pm for the Monday session.

The movie follows Eugenie, a cook working for the famous gourmet Dodin for the last 20 years. As they bond over their love for gastronomy, their admiration for each other turns into a romantic relationship.

They create dishes that are so delicious that they even leave the world’s most renowned chefs in awe. However, Eugenie cherishes her independence and has never wanted to get married to Dodin. So, he decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her.

French Film Festival Aotearoa will kick off on the 29th of May.
