The Narrow Road to the Deep North will premiere at the 75th Berlinale International Festival.
Prime Video, Curio Pictures, and Sony Pictures Television announced that the Australian Original The Narrow Road to the Deep North will launch on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand and Canada on the 18th of April 2025.
The five-part drama series stars Jacob Elordi, Ciarán Hinds, Odessa Young, Olivia DeJonge, and Simon Baker. It is based on the Booker Prize-winning novel by Richard Flannagan of the same name.
The Narrow Road to the Deep North is a savagely beautiful series that charts the life of Dorrigo Evans (played by Jacob Elordi as a young man, with Ciarán Hinds as the older Dorrigo), from his passionate love affair with Amy Mulvaney (Odessa Young) to his time held captive in a POW camp. His later years were spent as a revered surgeon and reluctant war hero.
The story is an intimate character study of a complex man, a compelling portrayal of the courage and cruelty of war, and an unforgettable love story that sustains one through the darkest times.
Other casting includes Heather Mitchell, Thomas Weatherall, Show Kasamatsu, Taki Abe and Simon Baker.
The film has been produced by Curio Pictures, and will be distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television. Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner from Curio Pictures executive produce.
Justin Kurzel, Shaun Grant, and Richard Flanagan are also executive producers, with Alexandra Taussig serving as producer.
