THE NETFLIX VALENTINE’S DAY GUIDE

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching its only fitting that we assemble a list of the top five Netflix TV shows and movies for Couples and the top five series and films for singles.

 

Five films for Singles

Lovesick: A British comedy that follows Dylan, a twenty-something who gets diagnosed with chlamydia and then has to call all the women from his previous relationships. Each episode flashbacks to one of Dylan’s past relationships and shows us why they haven’t worked out and at the same time introduces us to his cherished friends; Evie and Luke.

 

Chewing Gum: A British sitcom that follows 24-year-old shop assistant Tracey Gordon, a restricted, religious virgin, who decides she wants to have sex. Chaos ensues.

 

Crazy Stupid Love: A romantic comedy starring Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carell and Julian Moore. Enough said.

 

Friends With Benefits: A romantic comedy following executive recruiter Jamie (Mila Kunis) who meets and befriends Dylan (Justin Timberlake). Their friendship soon grows into something more, and drama ensues.

 

Pretty Women: How could we not have Julia Roberts on this list. A business man and prostitute fall in love in this twist on the classic Cinderella story.

 

Five films for Couples

Call The Midwife: A BBC period drama series that follows a group of nurse midwives in London during the 50’s and 60’s.

 

The End Of The F***ing World: Netflix’s latest dark comedy that involves two awkward teens who embark on a road trip across the country to escape their unhappy home lives.

 

What To Expect When Your Expecting: Based on a pregnancy guide that was released back in the 1980’s. What to Expect When Your Expecting, tells the story of how pregnancy changes the lives of five very different couples.

 

Four Weddings And A Funeral: A film from the 90’s starring Hugh Grant, four weddings and one funeral.

 

The Big Wedding: A take on your classic dysfunctional family coming together for a wedding genre. Starring Mumma Mia actress Amanda Seyfried, and Robert De Niro this film is a heartfelt, chaotic romantic comedy.
