For the fourth year running, The Others Way music festival is set to take over Auckland’s Karangahape Road. This Friday – the 31st August – the famous street’s many venues will turn pump with the best in the New Zealand music scene. Rock, indie, hip-hop, electronica – it’s all represented.
Ticket-holders will be pleased to know the timetable has been released. Shows start at 5.30 for the All Ages Stage (Pitt Street Sunday School). Bands playing to the young folk include The Beths, Girlboss, and Carb On Carb. These three will also play adult venues during the night.
Shows end around 1.30am, with D Tyrone and k2k (two of the three organisers of dance collective Inky Waves). The afterparty at Neck of the Woods will start at 12.30 and go late.
NZ music history fans will be pleased to know that famed 80s rock musicians The Headless Chickens will be playing one of the best venues in Auckland – The Studio – at 10.15.
The Others Way has now sold out, but The Night Before The Others Way has been added on Thursday August 30th. Taking place across St Kevin’s Arcade venues Whammy Bar, Whammy Back Room and The Wine Cellar, this event will feature several of the biggest names from The Others Way. Artists include Die! Die! Die!, Hans Pucket, and Miss June.
Tickets for The Night Before The Others Way are $10 – that’s a bargain for 10 artists!
The All Ages Stage is sponsored by Girls Rock Camp Aotearoa, and tickets are $18 from undertheradar.co.nz or at The Flying Out store on Pitt Street.
