Turua Gallery and Enamoured Books invite visitors to explore “Between the Lines”, a striking new exhibition featuring bold, energetic drawings by artist Dominique Marriott.
Dominique’s work draws directly from live nude models, with each energetic piece created in short bursts during rapid-paced sessions. Her fluid, confident brushwork captures motion, essence, and emotion in human form.
Rooted in her 2015 Unitec Visual Arts training and refined through sumi‑ink life drawing, her technique balances spontaneity and instinct with the calm influence of Japanese calligraphic tradition.
“Dominique’s work is a rare blend of confidence and vulnerability – the boldness of her lines embraces the inherent energy of the body. Bringing her work to Enamoured Books feels like the perfect meeting of art, literature, and community,” said Liss Wallace, Owner – Turua Gallery.
“Between The Lines” presents an array of framed and unframed works showcasing predominantly the female form, alongside select drawings of male figures.”
Open to beginners and seasoned drawers alike, participants will work with pencil and a live female model in the cosy, romance‑book ambience of the store.
Exclusive to this exhibition, Turua Gallery and Enamoured Books are hosting a life drawing workshop with Dominique on Thursday, the 14th of August, 6:30–8:30 pm, held at Enamoured Books in Remuera, Auckland.
This curated showcase runs from Friday, the 8th of August until the 18th of August, held at Enamoured Books in Remuera, Auckland’s first-ever romance-dedicated Bookstore.
